# 4 Leadership Letter - PATTERNS as NO 4 of 5 basic elements
Do you have a pattern in how to think or act that strengthens you, or holds you back?
Why is this important?
This is important because we have limited time and energy - we want a personal experience of ease and joy at work and in life.
Your patterns can be seen as a common way of thinking or acting. It is thoughts or actions that create momentum. They have become your easiest way to think and act. When we repeat what we experience as the easiest way, it becomes a pattern. We create a highway - and we stay on that highway? Which highway are you on, and is it in a direction that serves you?
You can practice a variety of habits and patterns, even without being aware of it. People are normally not aware of all their patterns. Not the healthy ones that strengthen them. Not those that hold them back from succeeding in what they want to achieve. I have had the opportunity to explore and became more aware of patterns I was not aware of. This way I have empowered myself.
Some of your patterns may appear inherited.
An important insight and learning is to avoid focusing too much on problems by talking about them. It affects your energy and what energy you share with others. From an energy perspective, you can this way contribute to what you want is not coming to you as easily. Push, hard work and working allot turn out to be the way.
Patterns you see in others that irritate you or that you think are less positive in others will often be patterns you have yourself. This is how you can use others as a mirror reflecting back to you.
What habits and patterns can you see in yourself? Which of them can you recognize in your parents? How can your parents mirror back to you something you will benefit to change? Your parents (and children) might be great mirrors for your own personal growth.
A pattern is a form of thought. The set of thoughts about how you communicate and act, becomes communication and behaviour patterns. They can inhibit or promote what you want to achieve. Patterns are a form of habit. Patterns are beliefs that are deeper references to what you understand is right or wrong. Our patterns are also shaped through our experiences. We can sabotage ourselves through patterns we have. Both consciously and unconsciously. The challenge is that much is unconscious. If you are uninterested in the unconscious, you risk sabotaging yourself. Insight into energy work provides an opportunity to clean up your human operating system and empower yourself.
Time to reflect and integrate new insight
- Can you benefit from adjusting your thought patterns?
- What patterns of thought have become highways and thus the easiest way to think and act?
- What patterns do you have that strengthen you in achieving your ambitions?
